Why Hire a Coach?

– when it’s time for a brave professional change –

How long have you been trying to solve this problem alone?

Not everyone needs a coach, and many of us (me included) find it almost impossible to get somewhere new without skilled guidance.

Fear is a powerful force and we live in a world that rewards conforming to a certain way of looking, living and working. Most of us want more than this promises, so we have to face not only our own fears – but those of our friends, family, and the culture that’s absorbed us.

Finding a new job can be hard.

Confidently owning our experience & value…

Finding an opportunity that inspires & grows us…

Becoming the leader we know we can be… this is harder.

An experienced coach gives people a place to be each week where they practice reconnecting and grounding back into themselves, and then taking brave action. For some this is about rediscovering a version of themselves that got lost along the way.

For those of you who fear change, coaching can be invaluable – it can save years of wasted time, money and later-in-life “if only I’d”… The professional journey is already challenging, and it’s harder alone – we all need sounding boards, fresh ideas, and at least one human who understands us and cheers us on.

Having some skilled company by our side can keep us going through the muddy parts where we get stuck.

1:1 Coaching Provides

N

Consistent Support

Most of us get through difficult changes faster with support. Coaching with me works best on really bad days, super confusing days, days of celebration, angry frustrated sad days, days of empowerment, days of brainstorming, days of being goofy… All parts of you are invited and welcome.

N

Structure

We meet consistently, and work within the 5D Model so you know where you are on the path at all times. Plus we’re constantly checking in and pivoting in response to new learnings, and often life circumstances.

N

Proritizing You

Having our sessions on the calendar keeps this change at the top of your priority list. It keeps you at the top of your priority list – where you belong.

N

Tactical Tools

Frameworks, handouts, strategic thinking, thought-partnering, presentation editing (my editorial/writing background helps here) – to keep you organized, focused, and progressing. Sometimes we race forwards, sometimes we inch forwards – your pace is honored, and sometimes slowing down is a disguise for fear — so we keep our eyes on that.

N

A Safe Space to Cultivate Bravery

This process is grounded in you being even more confidently who you are, owning more of your skills and strengths, soothing your wounds, honoring and respecting your vulnerabilities, expanding your capacity, taking empowering risks, and matching what you need to thrive with where you go next. An emotionally safe space is vital for this, and is at the heart of what I offer. Momentum and progress flow easily from there.

Here’s how to get started:

Step 1

Schedule a complimentary, no-obligation call.

Click on the button below to schedule. After you choose the best date and time, you’ll see a few questions. Before we meet on zoom I’d like to know a little about you and what you’d like to get out of our time together.

Step 2

At the scheduled time of your call, we’ll consult.

We’ll use the opportunity to make sure we’re a good fit. I work closely with clients so it matters that we like, trust and respect one another. Of course, trust isn’t built in an hour – but we both know if the coachability factor is there. The fit of our personalities + my approach is the foundation of your progress and results.

Step 3

We get started.

If you decide to work with me, I’ll let you know  the exact steps for getting started and we’ll determine frequency of sessions. If we decide not to move forwards, I’m happy to share other resources to help you get where you want to go.

Your Questions Answered

What Can I Expect?

In our first conversations we’ll review your current professional situation for anything that needs immediate attention; clarify your goals;  outline your resources and initial steps; uncover any blocks, fears and strengths.

From there we meet consistently 2 or 4 times each month. We’ll move consistently towards the professional result you want, while building a strong foundation and taking into account your capacity.

Most of my clients benefit from a combination of deeper personal growth combined with thought partnering around stakeholder and team relationships, exit and transition strategies, job seeking tactics, and personalized networking ideas.

Where Do We Meet?

We’ll meet on zoom for one-hour sessions. We use Whatsapp for texting or short voice memos.

I use these platforms because they’re reliable, and enable me to work with clients all over the world.

Why Not Offer Hourly?

For a strategy session, e.g. a job strategy audit or clarity matirx, I do occasionally offer hourly sessions. But lasting change, creative ideas, energy, healing and inspiration emerge from spaces where people feel safe, seen and understood. For this reason, I offer packages for clients.

In the career coaching space, many people end up with generic advice that isn’t helpful or applicable to their unique situation. I want you to gain momentum and experience wins quickly. You’re investing in a high-touch service. You’ll feel comfortable reaching out knowing that support is there, and this will help you progress faster.

What Can I Expect?

In our first conversations we will address any immediate concerns while exploring your situation, goals, capacity and timeframe. From there we will meet regularly and build a path to living the changes you are seeking.

Most of my clients benefit from a combination of deeper personal growth as well as practicalities such as resume editing, job seeking strategies, and personalized networking ideas.

Where Do We Meet?

We’ll meet on Skype for one-hour sessions. We use Whatsapp for texting or short voice memos.

I use these platforms because they’ve been reliable for years, and enable me to work with clients all over the world without anyone paying long-distance charges.

Why Not Hourly Coaching?

Because I want you to know that you have support when you need it. And I’ve found that accessibility matters when people are moving through deep change and reconstructing aspects of their lives. You want to feel good about reaching out, or maybe just knowing support is there whether you use it or not. I believe that monthly gets my clients the best results.

How Often Do We Meet?

In our consultation call we’ll determine the initial frequency of sessions. They’ll be customized to your goals, capacity and timeframe. We’ll review and adjust the frequency as needed, and in response to your progress.

That said – generally, we meet weekly or twice per month on Skype. All sessions are one hour. In between sessions you have texting and email access to ask questions, share updates, or blow off steam.

Do You Offer A Package?

I don’t offer a package, and I don’t lock people into long-term contracts. If it’s not working for either you or I, we shouldn’t be pushing through. I contract with clients on a month-to-month basis. I don’t offer hourly coaching but am likely to ask you for a verbal agreement to an initial four- to six-month period. Four to six months is long enough to see some changes and integrate those changes. Change takes time.

How Long Do People Coach For?

I ask for an initial verbal agreement of four to six months (depending on what you’re working on). Typically, clients work with me on average for 7-18 months, although I also have a select number who run businesses or are looking for ongoing professional development. Sometimes the change we want is hiding behind life-long habits and those take time to upgrade. I don’t believe in rushing or pushing – we work at the pace that works for all of you, not just your inner Achiever or Critic. Together we’ll determine what’s best for you and review frequently. You want lasting change, not a temporary quick fix.

How Often Do We Meet?

In our initial exploration call we determine the frequency of sessions – typically either two or four one-hour sessions each month to start.

Sessions are customized to your goals, capacity and resources. Most typically, we start with weekly and move to bi-weekly, with perhaps check-in sessions once the initial goal has been reached. In between sessions you have texting and email access to ask questions, share updates, wins, or blow off steam.

Do You Offer A Package?

Yes. The initial package is a 4-week, 4-session Phase I Clarity. By the end of this month you’ll be crystal clear about: 1) what you want, 2) whether you’re qualified for it, 3) any blindspots you need to be aware of, and 4) next steps to move you forwards.

Phase 2 is for clients who would like ongoing mindset/heart-healing plus tactical guidance and support. In other words, Phase 2 gets you acroos the finish line – we work together until you say Yes to an opportunity you’re excited about. Contract lengths in Phase 2 range from 5 to 8months depending on client needs.

How Long Do People Hire You For?

Professionals who hire me hourly for a job change strategy audit or to help clarify what they want – generally spend two to six hours.

For those seeking support through a meaningful career transition we start with one month, which is also a great opportunity to assess fit. After this initial month clients often work with me on average for 7-24 months, although I also have a select number who run businesses or are continuing their professional development.

Sometimes the change we want is hiding behind life-long habits and those take time to dissolve. Often I work with clients who’re on the verge of burnout so recovery is part of our journey together.

I don’t believe in rushing or pushing – we work at the pace of your slowest parts so that any change you make – sticks… instead of allowing any inner Achiever,  Critic or Pusher to run the show.

That said, while there will be ebbs and flows, periods of more internal work, then external — we don’t stagnate. We work through fears, doubts and changes so you always know your progressing.

Together we’ll determine what’s best for you and review frequently. You want lasting change, not just a temporary quick fix.

I’d love to meet you ->
